Hi Everyone...
Having problems with the puzzle video. I get to the point to move the pieces and I get a bounding box and it moves the entire image. I am on the correct layer. I have tried over and over again. Watch the video numerous times. Am I missing a step or have I got a setting wrong? Please help...........

Thanxs.......................

Hi ...

Just go to the layers palette and check that you are on the right layer :)

Wendy,

Thanxs for the quick reply. I doubled check to make sure I am on the right layer, the bounding box is there. When the the move tool is selected it jumps layer to the next one down.... Any suggestions as to a possible setting that I have wrong...

Hi ...

Oh now I understand ...

Select the move tool then look at the top of the screen you will see a section marked Auto Select Layer ... uncheck that.

When you have a small item on a layer and Auto Select Layer is checked you have to actually click on the item itself ... if you click anywhere else then it automatically selects the layer you clicked on :)

Thank You SOOOOOOO much, it was getting frustating, I thought possibly it was a setting but didn't know which one. This is all new to me. I jumped in on PSE5 and didn't know anything. I find the tutorials that you have done and the videos a great help. Do have one question for you. I have read on the forum about Grants Tool. What is the link to get these????

Again thanxs..... Have a Happy Holiday.................

Hi ...

So glad that you now have it sorted out :)

When you first start out using Elements it does seem complicated but it gets easier ...

Here is a link to Grant's tools ... and here are some instruction on installing them in PSE5:

http://www.cavesofice.org/~grant/Challenge/Tools/Files.html

First make sure that the "Show hidden folders and files" option is turned on in Windows. Then create a Shortcut on the desk top to:

C: Documents and Settings>All Users>Application Data>Adobe>Photoshop Elements>5.0>Photo Creations>Special Effects>Photo Effects

To install Grant's tools just unzipo the file and then drop the folder on the shortcut ... restart Elements and the tools then show up in Special Effects>Photo Effects.

Any tips for Mac users using PSE4? I don't have the puzzle texture :(

Hi

I am sure a Mac user will be around soon. I thought that the texture was available in the Mac version. It will not show up unless you go the the little arrow and go searching for it.:)

Hi Rachelle ...

I can't get into the Subscriber Area at the moment ... but on the Mac it is in the same place:

It is in your Elements folder (Applications>PSE4>Presets>Textures)

Hope that helps :)

Wendy,
You're the BEST. THANK YOU! I just had to navigate to the right area. I looked for it on my hard drive, but didn't "see" it til I went through PSeE.

Thanks once again! You're awesome :)

Next question...Can you adjust the amount of puzzle pieces? It doesn't seem so to me. I also downloaded the puzzle filter from Panos, I may try that.

Hi Rachelle ..

You can alter it ... when you apply the texturiser just change the scaling there.

... but if your image is large and high resolution then you won't be able to make the pieces very large to do that you will need to make your image smaller.
