I have heritage photos that my aunt sent me copies of on disk. They are all scanned in at 175ppi. I am trying to complie an album for my Grandparents's 60th wedding anniversary and wanted to print it out at lulu.com. They recomend 300ppi. can I just go into image and resize it to 300ppi? I am cropping most down so I am not enlargeing them. will this be okay?

also, it is my understanding that the album layout creator creates images that are 220?ppi. can I go in and change them and still be okay? I am going to invest a lot of time in this album, I want it to print up well.

thanks for answering all my newbie questions

Yes, but I recommend that you resize before you crop. go to image>resize>image size. **Uncheck resample Image***. Change to 300ppi and click ok. You will now have a much smaller image at 300. Go back to image resize and this time check resample image and choose bicubic. make sure constrain proportions is checked and change the document size from inches or pixels to percent. Put in 110% and click ok. Repeat 110% as many times as necessary to get the size you want. i have used this method to turn a 72 pixel image into a good quality 8x10.

Hi ...

Just before you do anything could you give us a little more information about the images ...

Just check what the pixel size of the image is ... do that by doing Image>Resize>Image Size write down the height and width in pixels and then click on cancel.

Then just add another message with the sizes in it :)
