using brushes

Every time I try to use a brush (dingbat), that I have placed in my brush selections, I get the stamp I want but if I go to another tool ie. crop tool, I get marching ants. Then what do I do? What am I doing wrong? I just want a little interest on some of my photo's.
These brushes are very frustrating and I can't seem to figure out what to do.

sounds like maybe you are using the selection brush if you are getting marching ants. Look lower in the tools for the regular brush.:)

It takes a little while to get all of this worked out. Just hang in there. :D

Its a really easy mistake to make ... don't worry you will soon get used to using Elements :)
