Honest opinions please. Is this just too dark??

I can lighten it or course, but the mood goes too. Thanks for your thoughts.

truthfully.... I think it is too dark but you only have to please yourself. :D
It is a great shot and very sharp.

It is dark, but the from the left is cool! Maybe just a little lightening so the turtle shows up a little better. Nice shot!

Ok, a third Kim's opinion. I think it is too dark also but I like the light coming from the left. Like KimR said, maybe just lighten the turtle a little.

Duplicate the background layer and apply Shadow/Highlights to see how it will look...

For me I like the darker one. I think it was lightened just a tad too much to suit me.

Thanks for the honest input folks ... I appreciate it.
The photo was taken in an aquarium exhibit .... you had to peer between some fake rocks to see the turtle. The real exhibit had even less light than I pulled out. It was definitely a nocturnal display.
Juergen - nice job boosting the turtle a bit.
