Killer Tips

just logged in to subscriber's area to check Corey's Killer Tips and I got a list of tutorials.
Anyone else done the same?

Yes, but only the most recent four are showing, at least from what I can see. In iTunes, the last 10 are there. Overall, there have been 15 or so. Hopefully, the archive will be restored; the tips are great!

This site is confusing me. I can get the podcast to come up in ITunes if I scroll down the main page and click on Killer Tips but When I click on the top right hand side of screen where it says Killer Tips, I get tutorials written out. I never seen that before. I'm at work, think I'll go home and try it.

Well, it's not working for me. I scrolled all the way to the bottom and never saw anything about Killer Tips or Podcasts :confused: :confused: :confused:

Hi Guys,

While I am at the office...no one else is.

I will talk to the web guys in the morning, when I click on podcasts I get taken to Wendy's tutorials..is that what y'all are having happen?
If I go to itunes I do find them all however.

That's right, Tami. You can get the podcasts through iTunes but if you click on the icon in the upper right of the subscriber area you get taken to Wendy's tuts. Something has clearly gone wacky!

Tami, the same thing happened to me. So, glad it wasn't just me. I was getting frustrated and thought I was doing something wrong when I kept getting Wendy's tutorials, I love Wendy's tutorials but couldn't figure out why I was getting them instread of the quick tips.

I've been burning them to CD in iTunes-just to make sure they don't disappear from anywhere. I put the first ten on one, then will burn Vol.II as soon as there are ten more. That way I don't have to think about it...:)

Actually, I think they run on a show string budget. I base that on all the web site problems they have and issues like the lack of pod casts without any official acknowledgment. Let's face it, they are into photography and not a bunch of web techies:D .

Carol, your right they have been been busy with the Photoshop World tour. Its hard to be 2 places at once and a lot of prep work for the tour. Hopefully they get back on track soon.

I see that as new podcasts are added, older ones are no longer listed, keeping only 10 visible. Is this the way it is going to be? Can this be fixed???

Charles, if the rollover is going to continue, they definitely need a podcast archive to go with the video archives.

Read thru this thread and seems there is a problem but I couldn't find anywhere how to get the first 6. Can someone help me?

Penny: there is a sneaky way. Look at the URL for one of the ones you can get to and change the Week number to one of the ones that isn't listed (eg if you have the URL for Week7 change the 7 to a 1 and refresh your browser. Week 1 will then load.

Penny: Glad that worked - I've had to learn a few sneaky tricks like that poking around in web-sites ;) . As long as people name things consistently and leave the old stuff lying around you can usually find it :) . And in this case I don't think it's intentionally been hidden.

I don't know if this means anything, but I have never gone through this site to access he podcasts, I go straight to iTunes and all of the tips from Day 1 to this are there...

Carol, that's interesting. When I navigate to the iTunes Music Store>Podcasts>Adobe Photoshop Elements Killer Tips, I see only the most recent ten listed.

I do have all 16 in my personal podcast library, however.

Right-when I say that I go to iTunes, I don't go to the store-as soon as I open iTunes if there's a new one an automatic download begins. I imagine folks will find tis much easier if they download iTunes and simply subscribe to the podcast.:)

Chuck, I recently took a class in the iLife suite and learned how to make podcasts using Garage Band-really easy! I am amazed at how many there are out there!

Has anyone had trouble with updates on iTunes? I subscribe to several and this week Matt's killer tips stopped updating itself. Even when I click the update thingy in the corner it checks all but that one. Corey's and photoshop tv update just fine. :confused:

Ellen, back a couple weeks ago when this website was having its struggles, I ran into similar problems trying to download Corey's podcasts via the iTunes store. I came to the conclusion that the podcasts weren't stored on iTunes but were rather linked back to the source. At the very least, some validation involving the site seemed to be taking place. My bottom line: when the site was having trouble, it affected iTunes access as well.

Anyone know for sure whether that's right?
