What to do after organizing scrapbook files?

Ok, this is not the most brilliant questions, but here goes. I have my things organized in elements3 and in Picasa. Now what do I do in order to use them in my digital scrapbooking? What's the purpose of having everything organized in these two places instead of in the files, where they still are also, plus on the back-up cd's? How can I pull up something, like summer paper or brads to use on a design page? Thanks for your help!!:confused:

Go to File>open and navigate to the directory where your file is located. I never use the anything but (file open). I was having too many problems the other way.
