I finally got images I thought would work for Matt's recent video.
Here is what I started with...

This is what I did with them...

I guess six year-olds can fall asleep anywhere :)

I think the 2d one turned out better. Any suggestions or comments are appreciated.

Rusty, great job. I really like them both. I will have to try the technique on some of my photos. I am surrounded by mischievous boys though, not cute little girls. :D

Thanks to all.

Yes, Charlotte, you should borrow a cute little girl somewhere :)
They are fun to work with; here she is wide awake...

I have to fight the urge to "do something" with it. Other than a tight crop I haven't touched it. I should probably leave it alone :) Maybe I'll adjust saturation and contrast a bit - think so?

Rusty,
What ever you do preserve that wonderful smile. :D She's very endearing.

Rusty,

They're both good, but the first one (at the table) is my favorite! :) She has such a cute smile when she is awake!:D

John, I think Milo & Dexter would look just marvelous with "dramatic lighting" ;)

To all who commented, yes, I just love Sophie's smile. And, best yet, she's such a little ham that she perks up whenever she sees a camera. That, of course, won't last forever.

Rusty, great job on the photos. The one at the table immediately reminded me of when we were kids and one of my brothers fell asleep at the dining room table face first right into his mashed potatoes. Thanks for bringing back a funny memory. I too will have to find the right photo for this effect. I really like it. And Sophie does have a great smile. She is adorable.

She sure is cute, Rusty. You did a great job with Matt's dramatic lighting technique. My favorite is the one at the table.
