I am trying to create a custom slide show...for some reason, adobe is saving it in a wmv? file?
What is this? and why can I not use my dvd to play it.
What do I have to do to get this to play.

wmv files are for Windows Media Viewer - If you have Windows Media Viewer installed you can play it with that If you only have Elements then it will only convert and burn a VCD. If you have Premier Elements as well then it can convert and burn a DVD - or there is other software that will do it. See the thread below on VCD quality from Elements:

Tony,
I Know what you're saying. There should still be a way of burning straight from photoshop elements for a custom slideshow. I have resorted to going to an arcsoft program. The other computer I have has 1gb memory. Even when I get the slide show done it wont burn. Its the complete opposite with adobe......i can create the slide show and burn it but they won't play on the dvd player. Is there a way of creating a mp3 slide show in pe3?

You won't get an MP3 slide show - MP3 is just audio but if your DVD player will play JPEG files you can burn those to a CD from Elements and play those. I have a DVD player that will play JPEGS and MP3 simultaneously so you can create a musical slide show that way although I've never tried it.

Adobe decided to just include VCD burning with Elements which plays on most DVD players although the quality is not that great - but to burn a DVD you'll need additional software like Nero or Premier Elements.

I must admit that since getting ProShow Gold that's what I use for slideshows - as a dedicated slide show creator it has lots more capability than Elements custom slide show.
