Layers Lesson 21 Bonus Workaround

I have read the other threads on here mentioning the workarounds for the Global Lighting omission in Elements 5.0 in regards to the Layers Lesson 21 bonus lesson. It says that people have posted workarounds in the forum, but so far I haven't been able to find any listed. Can someone please tell me where to go to find these? Also, did Matt ever release a DVD for this course? I found a post from him dated 2004 that said it should be available in about a month, but I haven't seen it available anywhere. Is it or isn't it?

Hi ...

A while back Matt told us that they had decided not to release it on DVD ...

Here is the workaround:

Create your two layers and apply the inner shadow as Matt does in the tutorial
Then go to the layers palette, click on the top layer and do Layer>Simplify Layer.
Next do Image>Rotate>Layer 180 degrees
Then change the blend mode of the top layer to multiply

That should now work OK and you will be able to continue with the tutorial :)

Wendy I tried your Workaround regarding the above, but can't get it to work. Could you please give me some detailed description to enable me to make it work. Thanks,in advance, Ed Weidman. :)
