Hello everyone,
Any suggestions for removing the glare from glasses, short of asking people to take them off??!
Thanks,
Carol

As an eyeglasses wearer I feel that I don't look natural in a picture without them. That said, from past experience your best bets are to shoot at a slight angle so you don't get the reflection ( windows & mirrors included) or if you are not shooting a big group you can have the person tilt their head slightly which may require a few test shots. Other than that you can correct by zooming in tight on the glasses and using the clone tool in small sections at a time remove the glare. Also if you have one eye that is more easily repairable, correct it and then cut it out, flip it 180 degrees, and paste it over the washed out eye. You can resize, move, tilt the selection till it fits. No matter how you do it, it is a time consuming task but not all that hard to do. Just be patient and it can be done. Log this in the back of your head for the next time you shoot.

Rich,
Thanks for the great advice-consider it logged! By the way, I just peeked at your gallery-it's stunning. I think I want to be you when I grow up!

Hi there,

I read a tip a while back about photographing people who wear glasses ... it said to ask them to tip their glasses slightly down. I haven't tried it yet but it sounds as though it would work .... has anyone tried it?

Thanks Wendy, I'll give it a try. I'm new to the forum, although I've been reading for a while. It's just awesome. I can't tell you how thrilled I was to discover that you are the Mac wiz here! Welcome back!
