This is a friendly reminder that it is Monday and we should have a new Image of the Week posted today.
Nothing was picked last week and the week before it was not picked until Thursday. The week before that it was also not posted. :( :(
Hope things get back on track soon... :o

I sent an email to the "powers that be" some weeks back about this very problem. I was working on the assumption that it is no good moaning quietly on the forum and no one knows how we feel, so lets make it official. I never received any acknowledgement of feedback on this email whatsoever.

In case you guys missed the post from Paul...

Our hosting company is doing things on their end that we have no control over at times, and there will be quirks now and again as Paul stated.
As far as some of the other issues..

Robyn.... Where did you send your email to the *powers that be* to?
Usually if someone sends something about the forum, I hear about it as you guys are *my forum* I have heard nothing about an email from you, did you perhaps send it to the webmaster address? If so that would explain it.
Kimi, they can't even keep the site going today let alone post the IOW.
As for us keeping the site running..again the hosting company is doing things that we have no control over as they switch equipment or whatever it is they are doing..
IOW of the week gets posted when the person has time to sort the images and pick, they don't always get to it on Monday... Sorry can't do anything about that.
It's a shame that something someone came up with as a nice extra thing has turned into such a drama :(
Sorry you are unhappy with things we really do try to keep everyone as happy as we can.
Have a Nice Evening Everyone

This has really rubbed me the wrong way!!!!
Having expectations from a site we are paying should not be considered a drama!
EDIT: you have certainly made me wonder why I am here.

Tami....
I think I sent it to the Managing Editor. I apologize for sending it to the wrong person, I should have sent it to you.
RE the Image of the Week.
I'm sorry that you see this as 'such a drama'. Lots of forum members look forward to this and new people coming into the forum see this advertised as a weekly thing with a prize attached. This would appear to be not so. The current IOW hasn't been changed for over 2 weeks. Do you think we are being unreasonable and over 'dramatic' about this?
tfry
March 26th, 2007, 08:11 PM
Ladies...The drama is more about trying to get it working again.
It seems like such a simple thing, pick an image, post it and send a DVD, but it really isn't, I'm sorry you guys are unhappy with it. I will again see what I can do to try and help out the situation with it.
Perhaps we can try a bit harder to get it up *during the week* if you guys could try and be patient till the end of the week and if it isn't up then..You know where to find me.
Maybe that will work till things are settled?

Thank you for your reply Tami.
I realise that Kimi and I haven't exactly made ourselves popular here.
I'd like members to support us or tell us that they think we have overstepped the line here. My opinion is that the so called 'silent majority' would agree with our thoughts. I may well be wrong. I would be interested in members' opinions...........ONE WAY OR THE OTHER!

LoL Robyn,
Popular or not isn't really a concern to me, you have a point, however pokin a stick at it every week isn't helping alot either;)
Hopefully we can get it worked out soon, you guys are alot of fun and I don't want y'all mad at me forever:)
Take Care!

Paul also stated a few post down from that one
"Everything should be "normal" now.
- Paul"
So what are we suppose to think from that. I took it as fixed and I am sure others did too.
As for us keeping the site running..again the hosting company is doing things that we have no control over as they switch equipment or whatever it is they are doing..
I have been on other sites that when a server and equipment are down or being upgraded or replaced they post that it so you know. Most usually do such things during hours that many users are not on the site like after midnight or something. They do this to avoid inconveniences to their members.

As Robyn said it is advertised as being part of the PAID membership.

Kimi I have been wondering the same thing today. What did I pay for a two year membership for if the site can't provide what it advertises. If it in in fact a web hosting issue then someone should be letting us know instead of critising us for wanting to know what is going on.
Edit: Robyn, added my 2 cents before I saw your last post and Tami's.

"You pays your money and take your chances" shouldn't apply in this case.
Drama? No way! Frustration? You betcha!

Robyn...I'm with you on this one. I always enjoy checking the IOW and it does get frustrating when it really isn't updated "weekly" as the name would suggest.

Robyn, I'm with you, too. The response to you came across to me like a parent scolding a child. It had a real "back off" tone to it. If the site isn't going to have the image of the week up on schedule, they should post a reason. That's my two cents worth.

Hello everybody;
Robyn, definitely I’m 100% with your point, no question about it.
Here are my concerns with this and this is not the first time that the Website had problems:
-Why the developers have to do the changes to the Website during the peak time?
-Does anybody at all check, verify or test what they are doing before they affect the Web?
-Does anybody know if they have a procedure to implement the changes?
-Does anybody know if they have a roll-back procedure if the “bugs” start to appear? Or they fix them on the fly?
-Does anybody sign-off the new changes before they go live?
-Does anybody know if the use a test script?
-Do they have a QA/QC department?
-Do they have a test lab for this or they are using the live system to play with it?
And I don’t remember that anybody said something about if it is easy or not, believe on this one I know it’s not, but we have to remember that the one who is getting affected here is the one who’s paying for the service, The Client. And the client it’s expecting to use something that its part of the services offered and it was working and right now it’s not.
Ah, sorry if I write down this reply with a little "drama" on it.

IMHO - the bottom line is there is a serious lack of proactive communication between the business (PET) and its paying customers.
IOW of the week is an extra - but it is something that is advertised, so if it isn't happening as advertised it is no wonder customers are unhappy about it. If it was advertised as being random then customers wouldn't have expectations.
Same with the server - this site is advertised and is part of the benefit of the paid subscription. When there are repeated problems (for months!) and no proactive communication, then again it should come as no surprise that the paying customers are upset that they aren't getting what they paid for.

I don't want to make a lot of waves but, as a new user, I would like to say that I have so far have had mixed emotions. When I first paid for my subscription, I was never given a confirmation email, let alone a confirmation page. I had to call the 1800# to even see if my subscription went through. Then they acted like I should have been aware of this.
The IOW appeared to me as something that was a given, not an extra. I have looked forward to it each week, yet have only seen maybe 3 or 4 new ones since joining at the end of January.
As far as the response that the person chosen to make the picks may not have had the time yet to pick; why not give them a time frame, and be sure to pick them a week ahead of time. This gives the picker ample time to think about their choices.
The server seems to be down frequently. This is frustrating to a new user because I didn't know what was going on.
I just thought you would like to hear from a newbie. Because as much as I love the product, and as much as I love what the site can do for me, I am not happy with what I paid for.
I hope that improvements can be made. I really do like it here.

Peg, make sure you are signed in. Click the subcribers link at the top. If it doesn't give you the login then click the gallery link again and hit the refresh on your browser bar if it still show the seagulls.

Just a quick heads up. You forgot to change the image of the week photo. All else was changed but that and I know you are going to start hearing from someone who is upset. Love the site, forums, and everything else.

This is strange, Phyllis, that you are seeing the other photos changed, but not the IOW. They were all changed. So you aren't seeing the polar bear, either? Have you done a refresh? Hope that works.
