I have a brand new Sony HDR-HC7 HDV camcorder, and Premiere Elements 3.0. I applied the patch for Windows Vista compatibility, as I am running Windows Vista Ultimate. I have a very fast system, with 2GB RAM, a striping array of hard drives to capture video to, and a dual-core processor. Each time I capture video from my camcorder, I notice that the video and audio are out of sync with each other, the problem getting progressively worse the more time that has elapsed. By the end of an hour-long capture, it is several seconds out of sync.
What is Adobe's response to this? What is the cause? This is very frustrating; I thought getting a brand-name like Adobe would prevent these sorts of problems.
