I'm having trouble getting contact sheets to print out correctly spaced with even margins. Generally, I have 4 pictures per sheet. The automatic centering option doesn't seem to help. Any suggestions?

Are you sure you have the same paper size set in the print dialog AND the printer settings? That might be the problem; at least the only thing I can think of.

Hope you get it fixed!

Paper size setting doesn't seem to be the issue. Any other ideas?

Are you using the contact sheet option during the multiple printing process and choosing contact sheet instead of the picture package which allows so many photos per page? There is no border choices with picture packages.
Hope I explained that okay...

i just finished printing a bunch of contact sheets for a project I was working on and the only options were paper layout (portrait or landscape) and how many columns of pictures per page you wanted and it would resize the photos accordingly. In my case I used 3 columns, portrait, which ended up putting 9 pictures on each page. The centering wasn't bad, although not perfect, but it's not adjustable either.

Gene,
i'm using the contact sheet that gives you various pics on one sheet, not the multiples of one picture. someone told me that the portrait layout works better than the landscape. i'm going to check that out.

That's what I was using also. I hope it works out for you. :)

The way I like to "print" contact sheets is use use the free CutePDF writer (http://www.cutepdf.com/Products/CutePDF/writer.asp). It shows up as an option in the printer drop down and creates a pdf file of the contact sheet which you can then print if you want to or just keep on the computer. Works great and I've never had a problem with being off centre.

Thanks for the tip, Tony. I'll give that a try.

Tony,

I downloaded cutepdf, but when I attempted to print using it, it didn't prompt me for my printer name after choosing cutepdf as the printer. Naturally, it didn't print after that. Any suggestions?

I think you need to "Print to file" and then print the file. Have you given that a try? Hope it works.

David - It should appear in the Printer selection drop-down box like this:

908

You have to install both CutePF and the Ghostscript PS2PDF converter but if you've done that it should work (It's also very useful for printing anything else, like forum posts and tutorials to a pdf file). Just print to it and it will prompt you asking where you want it to save the pdf file.

Tony,
I'm having problems with cutepdf. I get an error when I try to view the saved pdf file to print it. I contacted support and they said to check to make sure that the file didn't have 0 kb (it didn't - it was 3+ Mb). I get a can't recognize format or file may be damaged error message when I tried to open it in both Elements and Adobe Reader.

David: sorry can't help. Sounds like it might be a problem with the Ghostscript converter (which should be in Program Files>GPLGS) but the only thing I can suggest is to try reinstalling it.
