Is it possible to mirror an image in elements 5?

I have an image that I want to mirror. I used the flip horizontal command but the image has numbers on the shirt and a football with a nike swish and they are all backwards. Any thoughts?

If you copy your background layer, then use Flip Layer Horizontal on the copy, you might be able to clone in un-flipped parts from the background??
