Being a total novice with Photoshop Elements, I have signed up for the on-line training class "Creative Techniques with Photoshop Elements". No problems following the course up to Day 9 "More Masking". The class begins with 4 layers in the layers palette, one layer consisting of solid color and the other 3 layers with pictures. My question is how do I get 3 photos from my organizer into separate layers in the layer's palette. I have no problem getting the pictures from the organizer when I edit them, the problem comes into play when I try to make them into layers. When I highlight one picture it becomes the background layer, when I highlight another picture, that becomes the background layer. As you can tell from this question I am new at this. Would appreciate any help that I might be able to understand. Thank you in advance.

Once you change to cascade. Pick your move tool and drag your images into the one you want. They will all be on their own layer. :D

Or use copy-n-paste method:
- choose an image
- select all [Ctrl+A]
- copy the selection to clipboard [Ctrl+C]
- open an other image
- paste the copied graphic [Ctrl+V]. The pasted content appears on new layer

Thank you very much for the help. I was able to get the three photos on the three layers. Being new to photoshop elements, I would be lost if it wasn't for this forum. Thanks again.
