I'm sure most of you know of these two sites but I felt like contributing something to this forum, so here are two sites I go to for my fonts; http://www.1001fonts.com/ & http://www.themeworld.com/fonts/indexA7.shtml
I hope these help some font junkies, enjoy.

Where and how do you put your fonts.
Please pardon my ignorance. I am still learning how to manage the program.

bclady,
You don't put the fonts into Elements, you "put them" into the fonts directory of your PC.
Assuming you are using a PC (Windows), get into Windows Explorer and click "Help". Then enter "add fonts". You will get a "how to" screen that explains how:
Start
Control Panel
Fonts
File
Add
It is best to have your fonts sitting in the C: directory - that makes it easier to find them after you click add. You can then delete them after they have been added.
If you are using a Mac - somebody else will have to advise you, I have no idea

How many fonts can you put in the font folder before the system gags?

I downloaded one and got an error when I tried to install it on my mac - saying there was corruption in the file. Haven't tried anyother yet.

OK, I took 3, then tried them in Elements and went back and deleted 2 of them. That is going to have to be my new plan. If I take it I try it. :p
Kinda like my Mom and clothes. If she buys something new. Then something old has to go. :D Lord knows, my font closet is getting full.

I love the sound of that theory, buy something new, toss something old. I just can't seem to actually do it!! DH, bless him, never comes home with a new shirt that he doesn't toss an old one. Man that takes discipline!!!

I believe that XP has a max of 1000. And I'm told that anything over a couple hundred starts to affect your start up time. I have a few thousand I keep outside the fonts folder and rotate in what I need, when I need it.

We "sort of" followed that "rule" when we lived in the motor home; except that we'd stop off at one of our storage units in Washington State or Oregon as we passed throug each year and store all the old stuff. Seldom threw anything away. When we finally settled here in Lebanon and actually took inventory of what we had we were overwhelmed. Also, when we finally offloaded the motor home it seemed to rise up about half a foot. :o :D

Oh dear....
Just found this thread and had to look. The second one is new to me too.:D So this new one will make 6 different font sites in the 'gifs and font" folder in favorites.:D
AND, I discovered the other day (while cleaning stuff up) a CD of fonts someone gave me and there were almost 200 on it. Most are still zipped.
I should be busy for awhile.:p
