Hi ya'll - It's the newbie again. I have exhausted all other resources - so here goes. I am repairing and colorizing a B&W portrait from early 1950's. Surprisingly, it is going well - although not as quickly as I had hoped. My question is this - according to the person in the photo, the dress was white dotted swiss with pink dots (very, tiny, raised dots). How do I color the dots and leave the background white? I created a pattern by downloading a picture of pink dotted swiss fabric, but whenever I apply the pattern to the dress it is all choppy-(mozaic like) displaying it in blocks. What am I doing wrong or is there an easy way to do this??? I did not see a pattern in the system that would work.
Thanks for any suggestions - I will check back tonight when I get home.

Hello Ima,
I'm thinking there is substantial difference in the resolution of the pictures, especially if you downloaded a small image. I would open each image and check the resolution. If this is the case, adjust the resolution of the second image (the dotted swiss) to match the resolution of the family picture and re-make your pattern. Hope this helps.

Hi
You might have a bit of luck with the colour replacement brush.
Pick an appropriate pink and paint over the dots.. if the white is white ..it will not show up, if it is beige or gray then it will likely turn pinkish as well, so no go.:)

Tried the resolution change, no luck was just one big blur. In the original the dots dont really show until you zoom in so I guess I can just do a light pink tone. I was just really trying to recreate the original!!
Thanks for the suggestion.

Hey thanks, I will try your suggestion when I get a chance to play around with it again. I just got a new training manual in the mail (third one) so maybe I can get some help there too.
Thanks guys, I will let you know if I have any luck!!!
