I am new to using PSE 5.0 and I was wondering what book anyone would reccommend I buy to help me get starting using this product.

I would probably suggest that you get any of the Scott Kelby books ... I like is teaching style and find them very easy to follow.

... another thought is have you subscribed to the site yet? ... that is well worth doing as the subscriber area gives you so much. There are Video tutorials, written ones, extras, downloads ... plus you get the newsetter sent to you 8 times a year and your pown gallery to show off your work :)

Barbara Brundage "The Missing Manual" is very detailed about how everything in Elements works. Other Books, like Scott Kelby's "Elements, Book for Digital Photographers" has more creative "how to" steps to get a certain result. I personally prefer book #1 to get started but depends on the individual. I need both:) .
