I followed the watermark video, applied the wow plastic and such. I saved it in psd. Now when I open it and put that file in the other it's such plain black. It doesn't look like the watermark I originally created. Any thoughts as to what I'm doing wrong? Thanks Brenda

Brenda,
After you drag it into your image it will be on it's own layer. Then, goto Layer Styles and select "Wow Plastic". Now you will be presented with a variety of choices; select the one (color) you think might best with your image.
I use Undo History if I don't like it and keep clicking thru the color choices 'till I get one I like. Then, if you don't like the shadow/bevel/whatever ... double-click the little "sunburst icon" next to the layer name and you can edit the appearance.

I did that but I thought it would save the settings for the next time I used it.

Brenda,
When you open up the Watermark psd file you created does it look transparent or black or does it change to black when you move it on top of a photo?

I think it changes to black when I put it on the photo. I will double check that tonight and let you know. Thanks.

I checked it. On the psd file it looks like how I want it, when I move it to another image it looks black, no bevels or transparency.

Brenda,
I'm completely stumped. I just can't duplicate the problem you're having. Maybe somebody else can help out.
Sorry:(

are you dragging the entire image, or just one layer of the .psd?
try this: flatten the watermark .psd image and drag it onto the photo -
and one even better trick, if you're using PSE5 on a Windows machine:
Save the watermark image using File>Save for Web as a .png (transparency, 24bit) and then unhide all hidden folders (click "Tools>Folder options..." on any open folder, then choose the "View" tab, and tick on the option to "Show all hidden files and folders")
create a new folder here:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\5.0\Photo Creations\artwork\graphics\ called "Watermarks" - place the watermark .png in it, and restart Elements.
Now in the Artwork & Effects palette you'll find a new submenu under Artwork / Graphics for "Watermarks" where your watermark is stored permanently - drag your watermark out of here onto your image.
