I would like to multiply certain parts of an image, ie say I have a stringer of fish( only two fish) and want to make it look like I have 10 fish. Is this possible and how would I go about doing that?
Thanks

If you select one of the fish you can make as many copies as you want of it. Select the fish first then choose the move tool. If you hold down the alt key it will make a copy of the fish and you can place it where you want it. every time you hold the alt key it will make another copy

John, there are several ways you can multipy a selection. You can clone or make a selection and copy and paste. Each time you you paste the selection it will be on its own layer so you can move it or rotate anywhere you want in photo. If you need help just let us know. I'm not sure how much you know about Elements, so I may have not been any help to you.

I'm pretty new at PSE I'm using version 2.0 I hate to sound to ignorant, but exactly how do you make a selection to cut and paste? Do you use the selection brush tool to make selections? Is there a better way to make selections?

Hi John
The selection brush is one way..toggle between mask and selection to refine the fish edges.
Then just hit CTRL-J, to copy the fish onto it's own layer.
What I used to do was, do a rough selection using the lasso tool, then copy that (ctrl-j) then on that new layer get closer and closer to the actual outline with either the brush or lasso.
I would keep ctrl-jing just to keep my last closer selection (lots of saving as well .. PSD format) until I finally was happy with what Ihad selelcted.
