Karen,

I wish I could have been there to see it in person and take my own photos. That looks like it was a magnificent sight!

That is an AWESOME SHOT! Love it :)

Did you have to take a couple of shots to make the one? I've had to that before, to pull detail from the moon as well as the foreground.

Ange,

I did not take that shot... wish I did! I found that at the Astronomy Picture of the Day website shown in the first thread.

Kim R.

You are very welcome! I knew the folks here would enjoy it as much as I did :)

I love the picture. I really like the lighthouse, its similar to St. Simons lighthouse in GA where my grandmother lived and I visted quite often. Thanks for giving us the link.:o

Charles, thanks for sharing! Regrettably, they've posted a new picture of the day that's not nearly so interesting....

Chuck,

That is why I thought it was a good idea to also post the picture on Pixentral, because I knew there would be some people that would see the post late :)

Chuck and Charles,

they do not replace the Picture of the Day. They Add a new one. They are all accessible from here

http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/archivepix.html

It's my favorite website.

Chuck,

over the past few years I have actually learned something about astronomy there, and quite painlessly. It's addictive.:)

Rita, a friend of mine from Florida who just passed away was a NASA Solar Ambassador - wrote articles for the newspaper in his hometown (Vero Beach). Great program!

And I live in Clear Lake City, home of the Johnson Space Center, so I'm interested in the space program as well.

Chuck,

I was just kidding. It's what a friend of mine calls me, who unfortunately doesn't share my enthusiasm. But enthusiasm is the extent of my connection.

Today's picture (same subject) is equally stunning.

If you don't get there today, go down to the bottom of the screen and click "Archive" for March 17th.

Another way to navigate if you just want to see the previous pictures a day or two back is to hit the < or > symbols beside Archive and Discuss.
