I am new to Photoshop Elements, and I have heard that Elements does a pretty good job creating logos. Any help sent my way would be super!

Hi ...

When I am creating a logo I tend to use custom shapes to build it up ... that way the edges are much crisper :)

I wouldn't mind knowing how to do this, either.

Hi ...

Really it all depends on what type of a logo you want ... most tend to be fairly simple shapes which you can do with custom shapes.

Probably the easiest way is to draft something out on a sheet of paper and then see if any custom shapes are suitable (don't forget that you can use "Add to Shape Layer" and "Subtract fom Shape layer")

I am using some fairly simple shapes. You mention custom shapes are they apart of PSE or do you know where I can find more on the internet? Also, (being totally new to PSE) what do you mean when you say "Add to Shape Layer" and "Substract from Shape Layer?

Hi ...

Custom Shapes are included with PSE ... take a look in the tool bar and you should see them (maybe the rounded rectangle tool ... so something else like that is on top)

OK then create a new file (make the background white)
then find the Rounded Rectangle Tool, change your foreground colour to say blue) and drag out a rectangle.
Then look at the top of the screen and you will see some little boxes ... hoover your cursor above them and the names will come up ...
click on Substract from ...
Then make another rectangle across the first one ... and you will see what I mean :)
