Hi Everyone... :D This week we are going to try a tutorial that was suggested by Nancy. Use this on one of your own images and post it in this thread.

This assignment is open to any and everyone who is reading it. There is no end date. Hope to see a lot of images.

Not the best image to start with but I was browsing through some old pics and ran across this mermaid that inhabited one of my favorite pubs at the time and thought I'd see what the effect would do to her :) . The initial attempt rather bleached everything out so I did add back a bit of colour and the background was rather messy so I did a quick extra blur on that. Might to have to try again with something different. Here's the before and after.

Not really sure I like the technique. I think it takes the right photo but I do LOVE the grunge border. :D

Okay here is my first try. I'm not totally happy with it and like Tony I put some color back in. I need an image with a little more color variety I think. Anyway - 1st try:

Here is my first attempt .. I really like this technique and will be playing with it alot more! I am not that happy with the grunge frame and may play a little more with that.

Another one and this one was fun to do - did vary slightly and put back a bit of jam back on face and fingers that got washed out in the dreamy effect. Frame from Jodi of course - appropriately called Paint Mess :) .

Lots of varied takes on this technique; I can't decide if this is dreamy or just the wrong pic to try this on or what. I don't know what makes the glowy (sp?) look as apposed to a blurry mess. Fun to play with , thanks Kimi

Couldn't resist trying this again. Used an old photo of my daughter which was the basis for my first ever gallery picture (it's still there!) I've put the original side by side for comparison. I painted back in some colour in the lips & eyes.
