View Full Version : PE3.0 for slide shows?
BAD

Hi all,
I've been making slide shows with Pro Show Gold for a couple of years. I have a copy of PE3 and was thinking of trying it for slide shows.
Is it a good product for slide show production? I get the feeling it is primarily for video editing.
Thanks,
Barbara

I would agree with the primarily for video comment.
Over on the Premiere Elements forum at the Adobe site, I have seen people post that they use ProShow Gold for slideshows and Premiere Elements for video.

True, Premiere Elements is marketed as a great editing and authoring program, and also Adobe usually promotes it as the way to get the Photoshop Elements slideshow to DVD-VIDEO.
Although I do not get the message that it is marketed as a “slideshow maker”, I may be in the minority, but I prefer using it with or without Photoshop Elements. I would strongly suggest that you do a mini slideshow making comparison between your Premiere Elements 3.0 and the other program that you have, and see for yourself. Maybe checkout the Premiere Elements 3.0 User to User Forum at http://www.adobe.com to get an overview of problems/solutions the whole program.
If you do decide to try the comparison route, beforehand please check out the related material in the Learning Center (this web site). There are two videos there “KeyFraming” and “Overview”. Also, to the right, where it says “Quick Find”, be sure to explore “Creating a Basic Slideshow”. If you are a Pan & Zoom person, you will need to brush up on KeyFraming or the Premiere Elements 3.0 video effects Pan OR Zoom for that. Also, check out the Help in the program itself.
Good luck. If you get a chance, please let us know how this all turned out.

Just an add on....
Premiere Elements does not have a "Fit Slides to Audio" button. Some people just retreat when they discover this, but there are ways around if you do persist.
