Hi Ray,

I have a object selected on its own layer. I go to edit>define brush preset, but it is not highlighted.

Are you working on an RGB document (Image / Mode / RGB) ?

I can't think of anything else at this time... (not yet had my first coffee!)

I am in RGB mode. I might be doing all this wrong. I have never created or saved a brush before. I have googled a bunch of stuff, but have come up empty.

Nancy explains it here in post #12, but can't get it to work. Could not find the brush instructions in subscriber area.

I reread nancy post. I needed to shrink the layer a bit, it was too big. Once I did that, it allowed me to save it.

thanks.

I thought you were working on a small brush.. yes, with a picture, you need to resize. I think brushes can only be up to 999 pixels (not sure though).

jayegirl,

there is no Selection Brush in CS2. You use Quickmask instead.

Press Q to get into quick mask and Q again to turn it into a selection.

I originally posted this in another area but didn't get any answers especially from mac users. Is it possible that the download does not work in the applications I have?

I downloaded BubbleSet.abr, V6.x and added it to my brushes in both Photoshop CS2>Presets>Brushes and Elements 2>Presets>Brushes. When I try to use it I can't seem to find it in the brushes palette. Can you give me some simple to understand step by step instructions? I'm on a mac platform.
I made a new file 7x7 150dpi with a white foreground. At this point I went to the brushes menu but don't see anything relating to the bubble brush.
Thanks

I just downloaded them and they work fine in PS CS 2, as well as PSE4 (both for Mac).

First, make sure the file is copied in the right folder (I think you have that cleared) :

Next, check to see you have the brush set in the brush tool, in PSE4.

Finally, if it still doesn't work, try to reset the brush tool. Click on the little paint brush at the top left corner of the option bar, then choose Reset Tool.

Hope this helps!

Ray, thanks but I need some additional help. I'm using CS2. Here are my desktops, I can't find the brush name or how to reset the brushes.

That's because you're not in the right library. Just to the right of the Brush tab is a little triangle. Click on it, then in the list, locate the brush set.

I'm at work and with CS (and don't have that brush set), but you'll understand.

Ray, I found the brush. When I click on it I get the message
"Replace Current Brushes with the brushed from Bubbleset.abr"?

What is my next step? All I wanted the Bubbleset brush was to create a glass globe, I wouldn't want to replace all my other brushes.
What's my nex step? How do I get to use this brush?
Thanks

Frank just say yes to replace. This will happen every time you chose a different brush set. When you want to get back to the regular default brushes just chose reset brushes from the drop down list. It seems a bit confusing at first because you think you will loose your current brushes, but they are still there, they just won't show until you reset them.

As Pauline said, but only to further explain, Photoshop offers you to add (append) your newly selected set of brushes to the currently used one, or to replace the current set.

Professionals need ways to use all their tools rapidly, combining the brushes is one amongst several other enhancements Photoshop has over Photoshop Elements.
