Hi,

I dearly hope that someone in here will/can help me :)

I'm currently working on a big image - 82,5 cm x 122,5 cm in 169 DPI.

I'm using effects like saturnation and I add a lot of contrast. But when doing so, about 1 sec later, Photoshop Elements just undos the effect by defaut.

I've changed the memory usage to almost 100% as well as setting the cache level to 8, with no luck.

I have tested this in Photoshop Elements 2.0 as well as Photoshop 7.0 with the same results.

Please help. Thanks :)

Hi Cacheman and welcome to the forum.

How much RAM do you have?

I just tried working with an image of that size in PSE2 and it worked, but Task Manager told me that PSE was using around 480mb of RAM. That's only around half the memory on this PC but if you've only got 512mb it may well cause PSE to give up.

...as well as setting the cache level to 8...
8 cache levels sounds very high. Try 1 or 2.

I'm not familiar with PSE2, I started w/ version 4 and use 5 now, but are you sure you are clicking on OK after making the changes and not Cancel? The program will show you the changes to the photo as you are making them, but if you don't click on OK it will not commit the changes to the photo and it will revert back to what you had when you close that menu.
