Hi all.
I have made a collection so it is in order, created the slide show and now I am trying to burn it to VCD or DVD. I use The Create command and after it "makes" a .wmv (which takes about an hour), the wmv dialog box disappears and then nothing at all happens.
I have an AMD athalon 64 proccessor 1G of RAM, and am using PSE4. I also am using Scot Kelby's "Photoshop Elements 4" book. I have other burning software but I can't find the saved slide show. These are scanned slides and there are about 500 of them. I hate to have to lose the time I put into editing them into a chronological order.
Any help at all would be appreciated before I intoduce my computer to "Mr. Hammer"
Thanks so much,
John

Hi,
If you do a search of this forum you will get nearly 160 hits regarding this subject. They are too extensive to repeat here, but full of suggestions to help you out.

Do you remember what you named your wmv?

Do a search on your computer for it.

start> search

enter parameters into the search box to lessen where it will search - i.e., the date

A list will propogate of all the things that fit your search parameters.

You only need a word or two to find your file - but, obviously, the more words you know, the better

I just did a quick one in PSE5 and the default location it picked is:

desktop\my documents\my videos

otherwise as they said do a search for *.wmv

Good luck
Ross

PS: here is the link from my computer:
C:\Documents and Settings\Owner.Ross\My Documents\My Videos

Thanks for all your help. I think I will have to scan as the file name doesn't come up with a wmv.
I think the forum search will help also.

Could you have saved the file as a "prel"

Do a search for all prel's

prel is the format slideshows are saved in before you make a wmv out of them.
