 I'll be without my camera for a couple of weeks ... I have a Canon Powershot S2 IS and I got the dreaded E18 error on my LCD this morning.
It has something to do with the lens barrel extension and zooming function. The camera starts up fine but as soon as I use the zoom it stops working and E18 flashes on the screen.
I have an extended warranty through Circuit City and they are sending a box to take my poor baby away. They say it will be repaired or replaced within 10 days.
I have my old canon digital elph (powershot 100) to fall back on ... we'll see what I can do with that for a while I guess
I read online that the E18 error is a common thing for the powershot series, in fact I think I had to send my powershot 100 in for the same reason years ago. (I didn't have the warranty coverage then .. cost my over 100 bucks to fix ... I guess that's why I opted for extra coverage this time)
well wish me luck!
