I am thinking of setting up a portable studio for doing portrait photography, but I don't have a lot of money right now to throw at it, so what I have been thinking of doing is going with plain color backgrounds, something that I can remove easily and then move the people in the photo onto a digital background of their choice. I don't want to spend a lot of money on a bunch of fancy backgrounds, only to have someone not like one of the choices and be scrambling. I am hoping going the digital route would be a bit easier. My basic question is, then, what color or colors would be easier to work with? Does anyone have any experience with this?

Hi Gene. If you want to be able to do digital background the best backgrounds to get are chromakey green and blue. You can usually get a 5x7 double sided collapsable one for a desent price. Try ebay for starters.
