Thanks for the comments everyone. This pic took a while to edit from the original. Just the portion to create the overlay of the microscope over the Journal pic took about 2 1/2 hours. The lighting was done using a pot light in my bookshelf with the rest of the room darkened. (lots of versions were done) I used my 50mm f/1.4 with no flash. The brass of the microscope really took the light quite nicely; however the journal was glossy and had lots of glare. So using levels, color saturation, etc lots of tweeking, I managed to get rid of the glare. I showed it to my hubbie and he thought it looked too much like an advertisement. Executives, anyway....still love him.
