Wow, you are so talented !!! Those are beautiful ! I'm not sure about the low opacity of the pup in the left hand side of the first one tho...I think I'd kind of like to see him in all his glory ;)

Thanks. I had the doggy picture in normal at first but thought it was too strong on the page - took away from the other two pictures which I like better. Any suggestions of what I could do to that picture so it showed better but didn't detract from others?

yup...turn it into a Black and white ! ...or sepia or any two tone image..that would fit with the glorious colors tho. I personally would like to see it in regular form tho...color.

Nice job PJ
I especially like the Solvang one. I've always wanted to go there, but haven't made it yet. I 5 is as close as I've gotten when going south. Tell me was your squares an embellishment or did you create it. Nice scrapbooking effect.

The "squares" was an embellishment I got free on the internet.
www.digitalscrapbookplace.com has lots of free paper, embellishments, and kits. They have something new free every week. The squares were from a kit by Emma called Birthday. The site was recommended by Epson who taught a Photoshop Elements class I took at a St. Paul Scrapbook Convention.
They also recommended 21 other sites for freebies, things to buy, tutorials and other forums.... I don't think I have left my computer since the class...

Thanks PJ for the info on the embellishment, however it appears that it is no longer available in the Freebie section of Scrapbookplace. I did find it in the Freebie Gallery, but that only showed how other scrappers used it.
I did have the web site book marked already, but I guess I'll have to keep a closer watch on the Freebies. I really liked that one.

Hope it is ok to do this... this is the kit with the square thing - it is still on the website - free - All previous kits are there - but you do have to register (for free) to get them...

If you were unable to get that link to work - try
http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/freebies/BDay_EP.zip
It will be a zip file download and then in very nice quality png files - not just the grid- other goodies also.

PJ & Mary,
Thank you both. Yes I did register, but was unable to find the download. Again thanks, it's now downloaded and I'll keep a closer watch in future for the Freebies at this site.

PJ, you inspired me to try this. Yours was so beautiful! Mine is less elegant, but I had a lot of fun doing it today.

Thanks Mary, for the nice comment and for posting the link to the grid. It really is a fun one to do, and I suspect I'll use it many more times.

Hi Linda
I just got back into this site and saw your page. WOW! I love it! Your use of the veggies to frame that one photo is great!
And what font did you use for your title? When I sent the link for my Solvang page to my daughter (who is studying photography in CA) she commented that my font was too hard to read. Yours is perfect and I would like to try it... What did you do?

PJ,
The "vegetables" are chili peppers -- New Mexico is famous for them. It doesn't matter where you go -- even the fast food places -- as soon as you place your order they ask you, "Red or green?" -- meaning do you want red or green chili peppers on your meal. I only moved here from Alaska 2 years ago, so haven't developed much of a toloerance for the peppers yet.
The font I used was Mistral. But to tell the truth, I really did like the font you used!
Again, thanks for the inspiration.

Linda, that's really cool.. It reminded me I wanted to try something from a book, so now that I've kinda wasted the day I have to go cook before I can try it. :)
