Here's one of animals that I don't usually do, I like them but prefer the big cats. I've spent hours watching them in Jersey Zoo and taken some photos but am always drawn to the cats.
Maybe some of you like gorillas and will like this montage.

Wendy,
thank you, pleased you like it and gorillas. Don't you think that the baby looks very human and so cuddly?

Not my favourite animals, but so well-presented, and I do love the baby.

I love your gorillas composite! I have spent hours shooting photos of the gorillas in Cincinnatti's zoo. They're so expressive!

Kev, as always, looks wonderful! I hate to say though, you forgot the "l" in Silverback...hope the text is on its own layer!:(
I really like the look you caught on the young male's face.

Reka,
pleased you like it.
Thanks for pointing out my typo, I read the text 3 or 4 times and still missed it. I think I'm getting more stupid as I get older. Adobe please put a spell checker in your next version!!
Thanks be for layers, was easy enough to correct and is now posted with the correct spelling.

Kev,

The montage is marvelleous. Love the slight bend in the images and the way you have them laid out.

Kev,
Thanks for this wonderful montage. My wife and I love the gorillas. In 1996 we had a marvelous experience in Cheyenne Mountain Zoo near Colorado Springs. We entered the primate building and stopped to look at this one big gorilla. Each species of primate was in its own section behind big thick glass widows. Down a bit from us the chimpanzees were playing, and kids (the human kind) were putting their hands on the glass, and the chimps were coming up to the window and slapping their hands where the kids had put them. Everyone was having a good time. At our position we were alone, quietly looking at the gorilla for several minutes. All of a sudden the gorilla got down from his perch and came over to the window, looked at me, and put his hand on the window right in front of me. I put my hand on the window opposite his and we just looked at each other. The intelligence I sensed was amazing. After a bit, he took his hand away and went back to his perch. I was so moved by that gesture. My wife and I both cried a bit. Something I'll never forget.:) Your montage brought the memory back.

Gail,

That happened to us when we took the grandchildren to the Perth zoo. Just one of the orangatangs (?spelling) ambled his way down to the glass and put his hand up against the glass where a little girl had her hand. Just witnessing it, this was an amazing experience.

Gail, Karen,
what wonderful memories of such marvellous animals.
If you would like to know just how sensitive animals can be, read this about Jambo, the gorilla from Jersey Zoo.

Another case of a child falling in a gorilla area in zoo ( don't remember where) had a female gorilla checking out the child and then picking him up and carrying him to a ledge until park humans could get in and get him. I saw a video of this on Animal Planet TV network. Awsome!!

Karen, once you've experienced something like that, you're changed.

Patti and I have had many "encounters" with animals over the years that have changed us. I could go on, but I get very verbose. So, I won't.:D
