Hello all,
Been playing around with editing techniques and came across "out of the box" actions for both PSE and Photoshop CS2. The example images that I have posted into my gallery utilized the Porcelain action...essentially a black and white conversion enhancing the contrast, sharpness lighting and color dodging to illustrate a 'porcelain' look. You can find more of these actions through this url:

Very cool stuff....check it out! (especially if you like short cuts)

PS. OOOPS! I should have posted this in 'helpful links.' Sorry....oh well, comments and critiques regarding the photos in my gallery are welcomed.

Hi Denise,
I just checked out the ezactions site and their actions look very interesting. Also, the price is right, so I have down loaded the demo and may try a few.
Thanks for sharing this info.

I think I saw comments about this photo in another link. Very lovely effect and the child is adorable!

Denise, tried the demo last night. I was a little disappointed that it was only of the black and white conversion. I should have read the info a little more thoroughly as I was searching my computer forever trying to find where it installed. However, it was a quick and nice conversion of the photo. I am going to buy a few others today. Thanks for the link.

I guess I never used the demo. After looking at some of the converted images, I was sold and just bought it. Hope you have fun the actions. I know I'm enjoying them.

Denise, I finally got around to installing the Porcelain action. I only cropped this photo just to check out the action.

How cute, Kim. That little girl is adorable. How do you like it? Very similar to bw conversion but with a little more bells and whistles, huh. Once you start getting use to the action, then you can start getting really creative. My next task is to add a hint of selective coloring to a porcelain effected photo. Have fun with it. I love it...

Denise, I loved the action. It is so easy and you can customize it. I just have to figure out how to do that. I haven't figured out how to do actions like this yet. I don't get the stop and play. I can't find the play. I usually just keep clicking continue and let the action do what it does.:D
The little girl is my great niece. The photo was taken at Thanksgiving. Kaylin was about 17 months old in the photo. She is a camera hog.

I am confused -- I have read thru the EZ Actions site and still do not see the Porcelain Effect -- how would I know which one to purchase?
I am still new to all this Elements terminology. I have PSE2 and PS7, and did I understand correctly that the EZ Acttions can be used in both?
What is the difference between an Action and an Effect?
I would very much like to do the Porcelain effect, the photos that I have seen here are unbelievably beautiful.

Hi Kimmer. Go to THIS (http://www.ezactions.com/actions.aspx) page and scroll about half way down the page under the ala carte actions. You will find it there.

Hey guys. Love all your posted photos. I will mark this thread as a favorite to come back to visit. I'm too tired to try it out tonight. Denise, thank you for posting. I'm sure I will download a few of the actions. I've been wanting a porcelain action and I will definitely download that one. Thanks.
