*HELP* prem elem 2 jvc vx2100e & firewire

Hi Folks,

I need help,

I have a laptop and a main desktop pc, i have a copy of prem el2 on both, i can connect my Sony vx2100e to the laptop through fire wire (mini to mini), i can also connect it to the laptop through my dazzle box with red white and yellow audio video cables.

BUT

AARrrgrhrgh when i try to connect the main pc to vx2100e, my pc recognises it, tells me it good to use, then when i try to capture through elements it give me a message (in the place where it says camere online/ offdline top middle)"can't activate recorder try reseting camera"

the only difference is the cable as its firewire with large (desktop side) to mini for camera.

Can anyone help me, I can capture into windows moviemaker on both no problems, this eliminates it being the cable.

Has anyone got any ideas?

Atr your a star,

I have fixed the first problem of main pc, and it was the codecs, i had a codec pack installed from ages ago, i removed it and viol la i had full control
