Just read on another post that Chris is no longer here, which explains why my emails and PMs are not being answered & also why Chris hasn't been posting a notification re IOW! Just had a PM from Pat who wasn't even aware that her image had won the week before last! How do we go about claiming our prizes for IOW these past two weeks?

Bayla.........

This turn of events is most disappointing!:( :( A lot of us (myself included) look forward to seeing IOW. It gives us something to work towards and also we can appreciate the talent of those whose work has been chosen. If this is not considered to be an integral part of the forum perhaps it should be removed. It seems every week Kimi is on the case requesting what is happening. I was lucky enough to have been chosen once and Chris notified me by email at the same time it was posted on the site and I received my DVD here in Australia within about 10 days. That was FANTASTIC service and I really appreciated that. It is a real shame if this is not to be the case in future.

You know, this site has never been anything but responsive to the needs of it's users IMO. I am sure that the shift in personnel will be resolved quickly. I think a lttle patience is called for here-and remember that Monday was a holiday in the US. As the young ones say, "chillax":D

Every week I look forward to IOW on Monday. I look at the new gallery entries several times a day and make mental notes on ones I think may be there on Monday. I have no idea how they pick them and I usually am way off by what I thought would be picked for IOW and EC. Last week was a good example of that. At least two of them I had not even seen in the gallery nor do I remember seeing the creators in the forums. They must really dig deep to find their picks. Having never been picked for either honor, and don't expect to be with my feeble attempts so far (I know I am still trying to master many effects and techniques and post them merely for hope of suggestions to better them), I look forward to them every week for encouragement and ideas of what to do next. Especially now that I am working and only have Monday and Tuesday off the really concentrate and work on my own images.

Do hope this weeks are posted soon.

For the past 2 weeks I have been unable to view IOW but thought it was me. But guess not. Look forward to Mondays to see who and what won. Not always my pick but they are always very good. Sometimes it's not my pick because it's not my style of photo but that's alright they are excelent. Hope all is resolved soon so I can look foreward to Mondays again.

Hi Kim ...

Chris did post some criteria for choosing the images ... he said that they would be taken from the last weeks images but because they were not date stamped then it could slip into the last couple of weeks.

I don't think they are using that any longer as some of last weeks actually came from last summer ...

I am sure that they will sort out things pretty soon ... and then it will run like clockwork again :)

I almost forget about the IOW until I see a post on it, but I do love to check it out. It is one of the highlights when visiting the site. Since the added bonus of a gift was announced, it sure has given me some initiative to get to the forums and post some new work. I feel like I have done more images (out of the ordinary) than I have in weeks!! I am keeping my fingers crossed :) Hope whatever issues are there get resolved soon. We will all be here waiting just the same.

As with any organization, Chris leaving his position would create a gap that takes time to fill. I'm sure they will have things re-organized as soon as they can.

I hope the IOW remains; it is inspiring and so enjoying. I was away from home on a vacation, which is why I missed my own win.

For everyone that worked hard to have a new image posted this week...
I think you are all the Image Of The Week! :D :D

I can also understand with Chris gone there is a position to fill. But I also understand that it means so much to everyone here to have their image recognized. When you are in the process of learning... recognition is a powerful push.

Surely their is someone there that can take a few moment to give them this honor.

Kim L and I tried but you guys wanted the status quo. Now maybe we can make some changes - apparently the staff is off on a holiday.

Ron... I never understood. If you want to make a change as you call it. Go ahead. The space is free. Do what you would like. I didn't ask for feedback when I started my Creative Homework. I just did it and if someone wants to participate fine and if not that is fine also.

Nancy, that was too funny. I thought I had that gif also and was looking for it a couple of weeks ago when we were all telling Tami to go boink Chris on the head and couldn't find it. Must have been on my old computer.
