OK let's all just try to forget about last week's theme. This week will be easier ... a lot easier. This is something you find around you all the time, in fact there are lots of times you just want to get away from it. That's right, advertising. The theme for the week is logos.

Because the purpose of the weekly theme is to get us more familiar with our cameras and to sharpen our photographic skills, entries should be taken during the week of the theme.
Photoshopping is allowed.

As it's Sunday I'll go with a religious theme. The local 24hr convenience store against a background of churches. Mac's (aka Couche-Tard and Circle K) with Subway sharing space in the store and on the sign. A nice sunny day for a change :)

Someone with better French than mine may correct me but I think that couche tard = sleep late = night owl hence the winking owl logo.

One more as last week was a quiet week. The Canadian Oil Company's Boy and Slate logo on top of a 1930's visible gas pump outside a neighbour's garage. This pump was found, along with several others, rotting away in a field in Saskatchewan and enough parts salvaged to rebuild this one complete pump and return it home to where The Canadian Oil Company (now part of the Shell empire) originated.

Pity about the reflections. Forgot to use the polarizer filter :( .

From my garage/basement. A sign from the 1950's from my favorite railroad, The Great Northern. I was 10 when the railroad turned into the Burlington Northern and remember getting teary eyed when my dad told me the newly merged railroad would be dropping Rocky the Goat as their logo.
The sign weighs about 150 lb. and I came close to getting a hernia getting it where it is. I'll probably include it when we sell the house.
