Thanks Bill, this one will be easier. I was sick most of last week so I didn't get to last weeks. Sorry.

This should be fun and interesting. I'm hoping to see some regional and small town samples, unless someone has a Bob's Big Boy. We don't have them here anymore and he was always an icon to me when I was a kid. Maybe they PC'ed him, and he's now Bob's Horizontally Challenged?
Someone be sure and get the Burger King King. I know it's a Nancy favorite.;)

Suzi,

What a small world...

I lived in Vacaville from 1974-1981 and, at two different times, worked for the Reporter!! My parents still lived there until a couple of years ago.

Small world is right. Moved to Vacaville in 1962 and except for a brief 2 year stay in Tacoma, have been here ever since.

Byron- Didn't Charles Manson live in Vacaville about the same time as you? In the prison that is.
I always remember the road trips that took me through that town. The smell of onions let you know where you were.

Steven,

Yes, Charlie was a resident at the California Medical Facility in Vacaville while I lived there. My parents house was no more than a mile from there.

I also used to play softball at some fields that were located just outside the CMF gates.

The "Basic" onion dehydration plant closed quite a while ago, and there's now a shopping center and restaurants on the site. I can still swear I smell 'em, though, whenever I go back through Vacaville...

Suzi - Good start for us ... I like the Vacaville city logo.

Byron - Nice shot on #1 ... hope it doesn't catch you. Nice to see Jack in #2.

Tony - Nice juxtaposition in your entry #1 ... and thanks for reminding me what color the sky could be. I really like #2 ... it would have worked nicely in the retro theme too!

Steven - Rocky's huge! Do the people who buy the house get the beer kegs too??

Rusty - Nice collage ... it's interesting to see the brick patterns mix with each other too. (Thank you for not using Kopps and forcing me into another period of custard withdrawal.)

Ellen - Great entry! Is that style bag currently in use?

Karen - Computers, Electrical, Furniture and Bedding! Throw in something to eat and it could be home .... although I suppose Barbeques galore could be the solution to that too. Nice shot ... and thank you too for a dash of blue sky.

Debra - Nice collection ... looks like a party could break out!

Pat - A fun entry! Without wanting to start a battle, is Robin's similar to Tim Horton's??

Fun entries from everyone ... still plenty of time for Gary and others to get in on an easy theme.

Thanks for the theme and the comments Bill. I don't think the mill makes bags anymore, so they sell cloth ones now at the store.

Bill,

Thanks for the comments. Our blue sky has disappeared for a while, we are expecting thunderstorms today - lets pray there are no fires started by lightning strikes

I can't speak for Pat, but I've always put Robins akin to Dunkin' Donuts.

I don't know why .. just a similarity on some level I guess.

FYI.. there is also an Eddie Shacks.:D

I think only one, and I don't think he still owns it, but just down the street from Conn Smythes old farm.

Gary - Seems like a lot of former hockey players go into the coffee & donut biz!

Bill: Great comments as usual - and yes the blue sky has been a welcome relief here - although it comes with cold which isn't quite so welcome.

Gary/Pat: As I recall Robins came from the West (Thunder Bay) and Tim Hortons came from the East (Hamilton) - they met here and at one time we had both. They duked it out for a while but Robins lost the battle.

Hey Tony - great history!

I'm not a Timmy's fan but I sure do enjoy the "light" version of Starbucks coffee when I visit the City! I guess we're not big enough a town to attract either one.
