I am sure you will prepare one of your excellent entries.
I often do a quick Image search on some part of the challenge (perhaps Woody or surfing) when I get stuck for ideas. Sometimes an idea will jump off the page.

I already searched Woody.
I just went to check out the competition and see that Grant has not posted the images yet. Looks like I will have to think on this one a while. ;)

will I win a trip around the world? or perhaps I'll be recognized as a new genius?

We admire them John, and love everyone's take on the same image. For me the main thing is to challenge myself both with the software and in thinking differently, I'm lazy and need a challenge;)
That being said I've no idea what to do with this one.

John
Welcome to the pool-the water is fine.
As Ellen said, the challenge is mainly to give Element users a weekly means to experiment and work on various techniques. I know participating has greatly improved my knowledge of the software.

Wow .. I love the space shuttle one it looks great ....
so many ideas .. I'll have to try again ... this was my first attempt

I used Wendy's tut on wrapping a car in the British flag for the inspiration of the flames ... and then just played around with adding noise and the filter gallery to give it a "posterly" (is that a word?) look. I think now that I look at it there's too much "noise" (black spots) and it talkes away a liottle bit ... any comments?

Just went through the entries... We have some damn creative people here!! :D WOW!
Rita, I am not sure what you did. I would love to know how you got your effect.
Ward, hubby wants a new mustang. Could you make me a whole one and send it this way. I will have to show him yours when he gets home. (I showed him mine and he was not impressed)
Tom, I just love the old look you gave it. It looks real!
Donald both of your have just blown me away. I would swear the car light were on! Want to explain that process?
They are all wonderful!! :D :D
Those of you that haven't checked.

Ellen- Nice job creeping out the car. I like the open driver's door. Adds to the creep.

Thanks Steven , it's just one of my neighbors hulks blended with the woody with some moss thrown in. I like the Flintstones , is that Billz?
There a bunch of good ones this time, Bob's deco looking one is striking.

Thanks for your comment -- I seem to be off on a '40s California theme this week.
I enjoyed your abandoned car -- the overgrown car and the rust are great.

First, thanks to Tom for his great starter image. It looks like everyone had a lot of fun with this one.
Alex-A nice way to get the Woody out of the showroom and on the road. I think several people have commented on the Space Woody.
Anne-I have not thought of Woody Woodpecker for years. I can still hear his distinctive laugh. Nice sunshine effect in your #2. http://tacticalshooters.com/Wav/woody%5B1%5D.wav .
Barbara-A great trio of entires. I really like the swirling checkered flag of your #2. Would you share your technique? Very neat effect with turning the grill into the hubcaps in your #3.
Ben-Looks like the Woody just could not quite manage modern traffic. Thanks for the lift.
Bill-Nice ray effect with your entry. It really draws the eye to the center of the image.
Bob-Three great entries--anyone remember the old "Cigar-cigarette-Tiparillo?" commercial. Your #1 drew that out of my memory cells. Great way to fill out the body in your #2.
Charles-Love the slogan. Hope no one gets confused and tries putting a Ford in a pot and a chicken in the garage.
Dave-I love the way you have re-arranged the elements of the starter image to give a unique view of the Woody in your #1. Very neat effect with the blending of the front end with the headlight in your #2.
Debra-A nice drive through some heavy jungle. Who is that behind the wheel?
Donald-You read stories about old cars being found in barns, having been left there by sailors and soldiers as they ship out. I hope your sailor made it back home (the sea bag and hat is a good sign). Nice fog effect in your #2 (Christine?) and I've already said how much I loved the Cheshire Cat theme in your #3.
Ellen-Very effective use of the overgrowth and green discoloration to convey an abandoned car. Perhaps some soldier who did not make it home from the war?
Jack-Very creepy, almost ghost-like, look to the car and surroundings? Do you know the song, "The Ride" by Tim McGraw?
http://www.cowboylyrics.com/lyrics/mcgraw-tim/the-ride-14750.html
John Earl-Nice way to blend the Woody theme with your background. The license plate frame is terrific. How did you get the effect for each plate?
John Irish-Man, that's one Charp Chevy (or would be if it wasn't a Ford). I can imagine you cruising up and down The Strip on a Friday night with the radio blaring while everyone is turning their heads as you come down the street.
Kathy-Nice curves and dirt road feel to the image-how did you get such a nice lean to the car? Jeepers, creepers, where'd you get those peepers?
Kimi-A nice smile and happy face. The headlight eyes are great. So how many Smiles-to-the-Gallon do you get?
Laura-Glad you shared your image, even if your parrot does not seem to want to share his car.
Marilyn-Great way to take a different tone with your image while still retaining details. Love the winged 8 detail.
Pat-Nice "breakout" effect with your image. I get the feeling the car is saying, "I'm not going to stay here anymore while there is a world to explore." What filter did you use to get the texture on the white material. Not sure where you are in #2, but I'll wait until spring to drive there. Got chills just looking at the image.
Pauline-What a great background with all the automobile parts and scenes. I hope you did not have to make each image individually; that would have taken hours.
Red Sky-I loved the way Fred and Barney had to shuffle their feet to make their cars drive down the street. Neat way to bring the Flintstones into the image.
Rita-I get a feeling of a church's interior every time I look at the image. Very nice way to pull in a smaller element of the original. Love the glass look of the image.
TAB-Great city scene in the background and strong frame elements in your image. Whose the man behind the wheel?
Tom-A great adaption of the photo look of the 50s--the scalloped edges, the thumb prints, slightly brownish tint and the date on the edge of the paper.
Wendy-It's almost like those old dress up cardboard dolls with your entries. Just add a new layer and change the outfits (Bend Tab A over Slot B...) The peace and flowers theme of #3 is my favorite. Should we ask exactly what kind of smoke that is?

Hi Ward ...
........ and thank you for the kind comments ... the smoke
Where did that come from, it wasn't there when I sent it in (:D :D ) I think maybe its smoking something it found in the long grass :D

Ward,
Thank you for taking the time to comment. I like your No. 3 ... the old and the new.
To get the lean on the car, I used Perspective on the car selection... pulled back and then Distort to get the lean to the right. The eyes were a brush.... inspiration was from the movie "Cars". The rest was freehand.

Ward --
Thanks for your comments -- the woody in the California Dreamin' image was modified from a stock photo. As for the Tiparillo, I figured it was "in period".
I enjoyed your woodgrain woody and the hybrid Cobra, but the promenade scene brought back some memories. Great images!

thanks Ward. The images I used for the background were pictures I'd taken at a car show we attended last year. They had to be resized for 1 cm and then I used a contact sheet to put them together.

Ward,
Know the song well. Wish I had the forethought to tie it into the entry. Brain fade again.
Thanks for taking the time to comment, and your interpretation.

I thank you too, Ward for taking the time and care to comment. (I'm hard on cars: mine looks 20 years old.) I thought your wood woody was great, all the chrome was perfectly cut out .
Looking again Don M's Cheshire grille is too wonderful as is Barbara W's hubcaps. In fact in my short time here this seems to be the most impressive array of variations on an image I've seen. Because of Tom M's great starter no doubt.

Ward,
Thanks for the kind words. I believe the origin of the "chicken" slogan was a political slogan from the '40's. In the 60's it was a chicken smoking pot.....:D:D
