Does Elements store the photos?

I'm wondering if I can delete the photos from my hard drive once I've downloaded them to the Elements Organizer. I know this is a newbie question but I can't seem to find an answer. :)

Oh - I am new too and I know the answer :)
No, organizer is only a browser to the files stored on your hard drive. So do not delete off of the hard drive - unless, of course, you back them up on a CD and want to make room on your hard drive....

I think there are quite a few warnings to this in the booklets that came with PSE 5.0.

I started organizing my photos using Windows, but realized that Elements' Organizer would be a much better solution. Sadly, I pulled my photos into the organizer from a secondary location and tagged them before realizing that I needed to download them from the location I'd like them to stay permanently. Ugh. Oh well...I'm now trying to relocate them and find the missing files. I hope this works!

P.S. I really appreciate the warm welcome! I'm glad I found this resource. Looks like a great place to hang out. :)
