According to the instructions supplied with software it says if you want to trim or edit just set marker IN and Out then the question where do I go from there could anybody help me in attacking this problem.
Thank you very much for your help

Check out the following tutorial named "Trimming Clips in the Media Panel" under the Tutorial Tab at http://www.chuckengels.com
This tutorial was done with Premiere Elements 2.0, so some of the specific moves may be shifted, but the basic idea is there. I like using the Razor Tool. Have you looked at that approach? Although the razor tool is visible in the Timeline in the 2.0 version, if I recall, you have to press the letter C to use it in the 3.0 version.
If that does not do it, I will dig out the related notes that I made on this topic when I tried out Premiere Elements 3.0 several months ago.

The 'razor' tool has been renamed to 'split clip' with a pair of scissors icon, and has been placed on the monitor window. Finally a really understandable icon.
If you split a clip at the beginning of the section you want removed and split it again at the end of the section you want removed, you can click on that section to highlight it and right click on it to choose 'delete and close gap.'
Hope this helps.

I have 2.0, and it has been several months since I looked at 3.0.
But, don't you have the choice of split clip as well as the Razor Tool in 3.0? It is my recollection that, although the Razor Tool icon is not on the Timeline like in the 2.0 version, your cursor turns into the Razor Tool when you press C in Premiere Elements 3.0.

I just found one of my notes on the subject on saving trimmed clips that may be of interest.
I posted the following in the Adobe Premiere Elements User to User Forum back in November, 2006:
"Trimming Clips in the Media Panel" 3.0 vs 2.0 Versions
If you want to save trimmed clip in Media Panel in Premiere Elements 3.0, just drag/drop it from Preview where you set In/Out points to Media Panel.
By comparison, doing this in 2.0 version involves dragging to Media Panel from Monitor with its Clip/Timeline options as Clip (the latter shown in video at http://www.chuckengels.com)"
Hope this also helps.

You are absolutely right! It works! I guess I was so glad to get an icon called by an understandable name I never pursued the razor.

Thank you for your help. I still did not get it yet. Even I have the tutorials that supplied with adobe software still rather not easy to understand. So my question is after I set the in and out markers what shall I do next.

Somewhere in the process you need to drag your trimmed clip to the Timeline. Did you check out Chuck Engels' video for the basic idea?
If you are going through the save trimmed clip route, check out what happens when you drag the trimmed clip from Preview to the Available Media Section, and from there to the Timeline when needed.

I am so sorry that we are having a problem getting you through the Trimming Clip. I saw your post in the other Thread, and I have made some comments there. Please check the other Thread for my additional suggestions.
Two questions:
(1) Where is the original clip when you set the IN/OUT points in Preview? On the TImeline, selected? Somewhere else?
(2) If your original clip is on the Timeline, were there any changes in it when you set the IN/OUT points in Preview and did nothing further?
