Disappearing Colors?

I've done many, many scrapbook pages in PSE4 and have never had this happen before. I have a color photo open but when I move it to the background, it changes to B&W. This also happened with a paper or elements that I moved to the background layer. The Color Setting is set on "Always optimize . . ." What else do I need to check to find out what is happening?

I've had that happen a couple of times without understanding why.:mad:
Try going to Image>Mode and checking to see that RGB Color is checked.

That did it, Kim. Thanks! Wonder why it changed to grayscale? I know I never changed it. I've never gone into Image/Mode. 'Tis a mystery!
