I followed the instructions in Elements 3.0 to create the year 2007 for the organizer. This worked fine for 2005 and 2006 but the one I created today doesn't show up. Am wondering if there is a limit to the number of years you can have in the Organizer.
does anyone have a suggestion? Thank you
Pat

Hello, Pat. Could you point me to what steps you used when you "followed the instructions" to create the year 2007? Is this a new catalog? Your title says "icon" so I am a little confused exactly what you are creating. I'm sure someone here will be able to figure it out.

I used the instructions from an Elements 3.0 manual. I'll type them in:
1. Open the Editor and choose File/New/Blank File
2.In the New dialog box give the file a name and set both the hdight and width to 20 pixels. Then click OK.
3.Zoom in on the resulting file (about 800% works well) with the zoom tool.
4.Use the brush tools to create your icons.
5.When you are done, save the icon here:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements3\shared_assets\caticons. Make sure to save it as a .png file.
The next time you go to create a category, you'll find your new icon in the list.

I was wondering if you could only have a certain number of year dates?
Thanks, Pat

Thanks for the instructions. They really helped me follow what you were doing.
"The next time you go to create a category, you'll find your new icon in the list. "
Have you created a new category yet? The icons do not show up until then (at least in my recreation of your steps). Under the Tags tab New>New Category. You should get a popup asking for the Category name at the top and a scroll list of icons at the bottom. Your new icon should be in that scroll list.
I do not know of a limit of these type of icons, but I am sure there is some limit somewhere. Probably one of those numbers so high you'll likely never reach it.
