What printer are you using ? It's generally a printer thing as opposed to a program thing. If you are trying to do borderless prints this tends to cut a bit off the edges ( zooms to fit ) ...also, most digital cameras do not have the typical aspect ratio for doing 4X6 , 5 X 7, 8 X 10 ...you would need to either use the ' fit image ' in the print driver which will fit image to paper size chosen or crop in elements first. Knowing your printer model will probably help us to help you...plenty of people here with Canon, Hp and Epson knowledge.

Hi Bob,
It could be the adpect ratio of your photo that's causing you fits. Even in the not to distant past a 35mm frame was cropped some when blown up to 8X10.
I hope this helps.

A couple of things you can do to save yourself some aggravation here. First would be to crop the picture to the size you want to print (4X6, 8X10, or whatever) in the editor. Remember - you don't have to save the crop when your done if you don't want to. I often crop just for printing, but never save the changes to the original file when I am done printing.

The next thing, is when you hit the print button, before you tell it OK, hit the Page Setup button and make sure you select the proper paper size and set it to either portrait or landscape, depending on your picture.

Once that is set, there are several more options you can select before actually hitting that print button, such as setting the print size and scale the picture to make it fit if you need to.

One thing that drove me nuts before I figured it out these settings was properly printing 4X6's. I use a tabbed 4X6 paper and for some reason if I selected the untabbed 4X6, the printer ended up cutting off about 1/4" of the length of the picture.

Hope this helps!

I am using a Epson Stylus Photo R200 and I have tried printing with and without the border and it still cuts some of the shot off. When you say crop in the editor, not sure what you mean. The original has already been cropped in the editor. I really appreciate all the help.

When I'm in a hurry or I don't want to waste a high end paper - I take my 4x6 photo back to Editor - and I pull in the sides a quarter of an inch. Then when it asks whether I want to "crop to fit" - I tell it "no" - because I've already manually "cropped to fit."

This isn't an answer for those who like borderless - but for me - it's a compromise I'm willing to make to not have to reprint.

Bob, in the editor when you click the ' Print ' button...up on top right set it to ' fit page ' ( I think that's what it's called ) and in your printer driver settings choose the right paper size and set to portrait or landscape. For testing purpose just choose the 4 X 6 or smaller and do a draft on plain paper to save ink...if it still doesn't print right then check out the Epson site and see if there is a new updated driver for your model.

Set up your printer first - click File>Print, then choose Page Setup.

Select the printer & paper size you want, and then the size & orientation. Click OK.

Back in the preview, you should see what will print, and how it will print, in the preview window. Adjust the scaling as needed - in Print size, use the drop down to select an option, and then adjust the Scaled Print Size and Position as needed. I'm using an R220, and it's always worked for me.
