Thanks, Chuck
Esthetically, it's only OK - but I do like the fact that I've mastered some skills this week. I even cropped that bird out of it's background and pasted him there - something that usually is too difficult for me to do.
This forum has really encouraged me to experiment.

Great job.. I never would have known about the bird, if you hadn't said.
Was the alligator on a slope, or did you tilt/rotate your original?

Janice, I didn't notice the Great Blue Heron was pasted in! I thought it was a very interesting stand-off between the hunter and the hunted, although 'gators rarely seem to go after birds (not enough meat on the bones, I suppose)

The alligator was on the slope - the only reason I pasted him into that frame was because the photo was already open and it seemed like he might fit.
I think "paste into selection" is one of the more important skills to learn. And I've learned how great enhance>color variations is when I finally do a scrapbook paper I love - and want to change it's color.
I won't bother to list the other things i've learned this week - just want to say - it's been a good week. LOL

Call me what you want - I just like knowing you guys are there to urge me on. Elements is addictive and so is this forum. I've learned everything with help from a $10 book called Digital Scrapbooking in Easy Steps - and hints from this and other forums.
Too bad my Quick Time is so screwed up I cannot fix it - otherwise I could enjoy those tutorials everyone keeps talking about. SIX MONTHS - and I have not been able to get Quick Time to work. I'm at the point now, where I need to go deep into the "do not touch under penalty that your computer will blow up" files to fix it - and I'm not willing to attempt that.
It's so frustrating.

At the risk of getting in over my Quicktime head. What is going on?:)

Janice: It would be really, really nice if this website would give a viewing option like so many of the news service sites: Quicktime or Windows Media Player. For most people, one or the other will do the trick...

Already asked on forums why they don't offer tutorials in both formats - that would work for me - my Windows Media Player works just fine.
Don't you think alot of these tutorials are in Quicktime because they originally came from Apple users?
About Quicktime - it will not install properly - I have uninstalled it so many times - using various methods people have suggested - uninstalling peripheral files they suggested ((system 32) - Edited preferences - and doing System Restore when all else fails - but still I get error codes - 2803 & 2093 - "failed to initialize" "fatal error during installation" - among other messes.
I've researched this on the net and the next things I will need to try are too scary - so I've given up.
Now Adobe Reader is glitching - installed that a half dozen times, too. It works for a while - then it doesn't - my computer hates pdf's.
I think it all started when the SQL got screwed up while trying to install Pinnacle. Never got Pinnacle installed properly, either.
Now I use Premiere.
There's a limit to my tolerance to glitches and I've reached it.
