How do you create a link in a post

Hi! I'm a new forum user. How can I create a link in a post using certain text? In other words, If I typed the "link" is here, when you click on the word link you get taken to the link.

1) Select the word or words you want to be your link
2) Click on the blue world with the chain in the tool bar - it opens up a window that says "please enter the URL of your link".
