Keri,

I'm assuming by storyboard that you mean space for multiple pics on the same page like this?http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com/gallery/view_img.php?id=16844

There are probably many ways to do this, but here is the method I use:
Open a new transparent file the size you want (the one in my gallery is 5x7).
Create a new layer and fill with white (or whatever color you want the background of the storyboard to be).
Turn on the grid (under View). Use the rectangular marquee tool to "draw" a box the size you want the pic. Then click delete to get rid of the white.
Continue for other boxes.
Add borders on a new layer (using stroke outline selection) so you can change as desired

I hope this makes sense. I'll be glad to e-mail you a file if you will send me a PM with your e-mail address! I also have several others that I've created if you need something specific that I have.

If you are a subscriber, watch Cory's latest podcast (download the video) - you could "mask" the portions you want and have flexibility too.

Kim R - LOVE that lollipop layout - SO CUTE!!! What shortcut did you use to get the colors on each box? Did you use Edit>Stroke (Outline) each time? (dont intend to highjack the thread...sorry)

Beatrice,

Yes, I used stroke outline for each color, but didn't do each box separately. I selected all on the white layer instead.

kim-

thanks for your response.. im a little bit slow! haha.. anyways..

i did what you said - and i got as far as taking the grid off... once i try to move a picture into one of the boxes it only shows a fraction of the image because its so large.. how do you fit the image into the box i 'drew' with the marque tool?

when i open files in PSE my files are HUGE (inches wise) how do i change them to be workable..??

thanks

Keri,
Open Picture- go to: Image> Resize> Image Size
Under Document Size change dimensions to something smaller (if the little boxes in the bottom left hand corner are checked), you will only have to change either Width Or Height the other will change automatically to keep picture proportions.

keri - when you drag a new image into a document and you cannot see all of it, click Control 0 (zero) or Command 0. This zooms your document all the way out so you can see the handles of the image - then hold your Shift key (to constrain the size to its current proportion) and drag it smaller.

Is that helpful?

Keri,

I typically use control/t for free transform to make the image the right size for the "box" I've created for it. My photos open as 32 x 48 inches, so I usually have to do this.
