Hello!!

I am trying to import photos that I have edited in PE4 into iMovie and for some reason after they finish importing the photo turns completely black and it will not play in iMovie as a slideshow. However, I can edit photos on my PC with picture it and import to iMovie and it works just fine. I am saving them both as jpg files. Does anyone know what I'm talking about or have any suggestions? Thanks in advance!!!

This is the only info I found in iMovie help file - not that it helps... ??

Some of my imported still images are blank
Some still images in PICT format appear as blank (or white) images after they render. If this happens, use another image-editing application to convert the image file into another format (such as JPEG or TIFF) and import it into your movie again.

I'd suggest a search over at the iMovie forum - very helpful people on all the Apple boards:

Wendy,

yes, I'm trying to make a slideshow with video clips also. I know I can do it in iPhoto but like the flexibilty that iMoive has to offer. I have been doing them in iMovie for a little over a year but just got PE4 and for the life of me I can't figure out why the photos are black after rendering. Thanks!

Hi ...

I tend to make the album first in iPhoto and then start up iMovie and access the album from iPhoto.

I have not had any problems at all with it ... what sort of Mac do you have and which Operating System are you using ??

Wendy :)

Wendy's right. If you import the photos into iPhoto, it is easy to bring them into iMovie. Then you can add the Ken Burns effect to your slideshow/movie.

Depending on how you import them from the library, they will become mini movie clips (applying the effect) or as a still image (no effect).
