Hi

I am new to this but here goes. I have installed on my computer PE2. I have NOT got Photoshop Elements. I have produced movies on PE2 and burned to DVD OK. But, over the past view weeks I have been editing another movie with video, still's and some extra background audio. I finished the project and wanted to burn. It went through the first bit of burning then came up with a message 'The data rate of this file is too high for DVD. You must replace the file with one of a lower data rate.-PGC info : name=,ref=Hpgc,time=00:33:23:07.'
Can anyone help me?
Thanks in anticipation

Check out the link below and my response #7 in that Data Rate Thread. One of the options should do the job.

Thanks ATR but I have not got Photoshop Elements on my computer at all. All I have is Premier Elements 2.0. Can you advise how I export from my timeline and what I should export?
Thanks

Slaphead38,

I would try one or both of the two approaches suggested and see what happens:

(a) Highlight (select) your project on the Timeline, go File/Export/Movie to obtain an AVI version. After the latter is complete, there should be an AVI version in the Media Panel as well as a saved version in a place like My Videos. Take this AVI version to the Premiere Elements 2.0 Timeline and burn to disc/DVD-VIDEO in Premiere Elements 2.0.

(b) The other approach is adjusting the bitrate manually:
Highlight your original project on the Timeline, go to DVD Tab and when you get to the Burn Dialog:
(1) make sure you have your DVD disc in drive/READY
(2) In the Burn Dialog, go to the section on Quality settings
(3) Uncheck "Fit Content to Available Space"
(4) There is a Video Quality Slider (Low--High) with
----MB(Bitrate----Mbps) underneath. Move this slider from
the higher setting to a lower setting that works for you.
(5) Burn to Disc

I will be watching to see if any of that helps.
