I know these questions have been asked before.would someone with patience walk me through loading tools. like wendys orb, grants tools etc.PSE5.:) boB

Hi Bob ...

Installing actions PSE5. First make sure that the "Show hidden folders and files" option is turned on in Windows. Then create a Shortcut on the desk top to:

C: Documents and Settings>All Users>Application Data>Adobe>Photoshop Elements>5.0>Photo Creations>Special Effects>Photo Effects

To install an action just create a new folder (if the action isn't in one already), pop the .atn file (or files) in it and then drop the folder on the shortcut ... restart Elements and the action then shows up in Special Effects>Photo Effects.

Hi Bob

I'm not sure how familiar you are with computers.

One thing I did when I first got PE5 was to browse to that folder, and then made a shortcut to it on my desktop.
I actually went one folder less and used that as my shortcut so I can access all the folders in the Photo Creations folder.

"C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\5.0\Photo Creations"

Wendy, I just tried this on your Orb effect and it didn't show up :confused: I copied the Wendy's orb folder to my desktop then dragged it onto the shortcup you posted above? Was that right?

Hi Gary. I am not familar with computers. so go to that file in pse5 and make a shortcut to it?

That is pretty much it...put my shortcut on the desktop.
When I first got 5, I was adding all the things I had from 3 plus some new things. That way was way easier than browsing to that folder every time I added something.
Plus I kept forgetting the path.:o

If you highlight the path I have in my post (minus the quotes) and copy it ... right click on your desktop and pick new>shortcut. Then in the box that pops up just paste the path in there and it should be fine.
