Hi all,
I've some Kodak CD's that are in PCD file format. I can't seem to find PCD listed in the file associations table. The CD's were made at a professional lab from my 35mm film photos. Can anyone shed any light on this ? Is there a way to put PCD in the file association table?

Hi Chas-
It appears that while the full version of Photoshop CS2 can open Photo CD files (PCD), PSE cannot...at least, I couldn't find a way to do it.
I did a quick search for converter programs, though, and found several ranging from free to not free that will convert PCD's to a file type that PSE will open (JPG, BMP, etc.)
Here's one that looks like they offer a free trial download.
I've never tried this product, or any like it, so I'm shooting in the dark, or maybe heavy dusk here, but hope it helps!

In earlier versions of Photoshop Elements, I think that the Photoshop Elements Editor could open the PCD files and then you could save them in a different format if you wanted to bring them in to the PSE Organizer. Not sure if it would work in PS Elements 5.
Here is a link to an Adobe techdoc where the title is for PSE 3 and PSE 4, it seems to confirm that at least for some versions the editor can open a PCD file.

Have you tried opening a PCD file with the Elements Editor?

Barb,
They (PCD) photos aren't recognized by PSE 5......:( Guess I'll have to add this to the wish list.

Then it seems like Adobe removed the support of PCD format that was in previous versions of Photoshop Elements (editor). I wonder why .......

Could be because Kodak dropped support for Photo CD so it's pretty much a dead format I believe.

Chas,
IrfanView (http://www.irfanview.com) will open PCD files (read, but not write). It is a free graphics viewer and quite well known.
